Your opinion counts! That’s why we regularly ask how satisfied you are with us and with how we communicate with you. A lot of members recently completed the questionnaire for our customer satisfaction survey. They also answered questions about the new pension system. Did you fill in the questionnaire? If so, thank you for doing so! It helps us improve how we communicate. You can read the results of the survey on our website and in the newsletter later this year.
Your pension overview is available
Did you build up a pension with us in 2023? We send you an overview of your pension each year that you build up a pension with us. This ‘Uniform Pension Overview’ has been uploaded to My Koopvaardij.
Bpf Koopvaardij offers you a number of pension options, not only when you retire, but in other situations too. If you want to talk to us about the various options, then arrange for a phone call with our Service Desk using the online appointment planner.
Are you curious about how your pension and the pension fund are doing, not just now, but also later when the new pension scheme is in place? If so, you can sign up for one of the pension meetings in your area:

Van der Valk Hotel Zwolle: Wednesday 23 October 2024
•
Van der Valk Hotel Breukelen: Wednesday 30 October 2024
•
Van der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk: Wednesday 20 November 2024
You will receive an invitation. Make sure you save the date in your diary. The language for the meetings will be Dutch.
Now that the new (Dutch) Future Pensions Act has come into force, we can well understand that you may have questions about it. We will therefore answer the most frequently asked questions about the new pension system.
I want to retire within the next five years. What does the transition to the new scheme mean for me? Before the new Act came into force, there were already serious discussions between the social partners. For the time being they have opted for a ‘solidarity scheme’, meaning that within the scheme we absorb windfalls and setbacks collectively and share the risks, so that the pensions are more stable. The social partners also expressed a preference for conversion (in Dutch invaren) of all the built-up pensions into pensions subject to the new rules. No money will be lost during the conversion, and in the new scheme you will also have the same pension options.
In our annual Op Koers magazine, you can read personal stories from the merchant navy sector as well as useful information about your pension. Number 5 was published in July, so now’s a good time to ask you for feedback. We're eager to hear what you think of Op Koers, so please fill in the brief questionnaire.
Thom (from Vietnam) and Joenamar (from the Philippines) alternate as captain of the multi-purpose vessel Amalia. How did they get started as seafarers, and what positions have they held on board? Read about it in Op Koers.
Do you have a story of your own for Op Koers? Then contact servicedesk@koopvaardij.nl, referring to Op Koers 2025. You can also give us your details using this form.
